Jeannie Pierola left Bern’s

Though apparently a long time simmering, the departure of Executive Chef, Jeannie Pierola, from Bern’s Steak House and Side Bern’s after 9 years came as a surprise to the community – especially since food is such an integral part of The Epicurean, a boutique hotel they’re developing across the street. Neither Bern’s owner, David Laxer, nor Jeannie Pierola are giving out any details, other than that their visions on the future differ. Jeannie has been the only Executive Chef at Bern’s since the departure of Bern Laxer, the founder and David’s father, back in the 50s. It is expected that the new chef will be promoted from within.
